A Christmas Mystery That Warms the Heart and Tickles the Mind
Some books entertain you.
Some books comfort you.
And then there are books like The Mystery of the Christmas Wish that do both, while wrapping you in festive magic, clever clues, and a deeply emotional mystery.
Manjiri Prabhu does it again.
From the very first page, I was transported; not just into a story, but into a feeling. The warmth of childhood, the thrill of solving riddles, the joy of Christmas, and the kind of mystery that makes you forget time exists. This book reminded me why I fell in love with mystery fiction as a child.

Set in Pune, the story follows the Spunky Cousins: Fulki, Tina, Paras, and Samir; who stumble upon a mysterious gift box containing a letter from a grandmother named Leela Ajji to her estranged grandson, Bittu. What follows is a treasure hunt that winds through the city, filled with riddles, emotions, compassion, suspense, and heart.
And let me tell you, the clues are brilliant. Not predictable. Not simplistic. But smart, layered, and deeply satisfying. Each chapter peels back another layer of the mystery, and before you know it, you’re emotionally invested; not just in what happens, but in who it happens to.
The characters are beautifully written: distinct, warm, relatable. You don’t just read about them; you walk beside them. You laugh with them. You worry with them. You hope with them. This is rare in children’s fiction, and Manjiri nails it.
What truly elevates this book is that it is not just a mystery. It is a story about love, compassion, family, second chances, and hope. It quietly teaches children empathy without preaching. It gently reminds adults of what truly matters.
And the Christmas vibe? Absolutely delightful. Lights, warmth, generosity, togetherness; it feels like a festive hug in book form.
This is not a book you “read.”
This is a book you experience.
Unputdownable.Heartwarming.Clever.Beautifully paced.
Emotionally rich.
5 out of 5 – Without a doubt.
If you are a parent looking for meaningful fiction…
If you are a child who loves puzzles and adventures…
If you are an adult who misses the magic of childhood mysteries…
This book is for you.
And as I always say:
If England had Enid Blyton and Agatha Christie,
America has Dan Brown,
Well, India has Manjiri Prabhu.
This is a story that deserves to be read in homes, classrooms, libraries, and hearts across the country.
